Where do I even begin? My TBR s so long, and every day it just seems to grow and grow! Whether that’s because I’ve spotted something new, or if someone has recommended that I read the book, I always seem to add at least two new books every week.
So let’s take a look at what I’ve added this week, and what I can’t wait to read!
Made You Up by Francesca Zappia
As if that cover wasn’t enough to drag me in, the concept of this book sounds fascinating. The main character, Alex, is in constant battle with her schizophrenia over what is real and what isn’t. Armed with her camera, a magic 8 ball, and her sister, she plans to get to college and stays optimistic until she meets Miles and starts to doubt whether she imagined him or not.
Featuring the most unreliable narrator ever, Made You Up sounds like a great read and I’m super excited to read more of Zappia’s work. Which brings me to…
Eliza and her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
I may have squealed when I saw this cover. It’s just GORGEOUS. Then I opened the book to read the blurb and saw that it’s about fandom…INSTANTLY SOLD! I love anything and everything to do with fandom (I get sucked in very quickly to new fandoms and think I must be a member of far too many to keep track of). It features Eliza, who runs a very popular webcomic but keeps anonymous. When her secret is out and the whole school finds out, will Eliza be able to keep afloat after everything she has built up begins to fall apart?
I’ve read that this book is perfect for fans of Nimona (love) and that is by far enough for me to get with this!
Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend
So the jacket of this one hasn’t yet been revealed, but I cannot wait for the official reveal! Morrigan Crow is a Cursed Child, and is blamed for every mishap, accident or misfortune in the town. The worst thing of all is that the curse dooms her to die at midnight on her eleventh birthday. As she waits for her time to draw to a close, an unusual man by the name of Jupiter North appears, promising to whisk her away to a mystical place called Nevermoor and save her from this fate.
I’ve been lucky enough to have an advanced reading copy of this, and I. Am. HOOKED! I’m getting a very big Series of Unfortunate Events vibe from the writing, and with how mysterious it all is. I’m only a few pages in though, so watch this space!
They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera
Okay, I know I’m going to cry at this one. Look at the title! If I’m not crying by the end of this book, there’s something wrong with me. The story focuses on Mateo and Rufus, who have both been contacted with the bad news that they’ll both die at midnight. Luckily for them, the Last Friend app allows them to meet up and have one last adventure before the inevitable happens.
Such an intriguing idea for a book, and I can’t wait until September until it comes out here.
What’s on your TBR lately? Spied any books that you want to add to yours? Let me know in the comments what you would recommend that I add to mine!
